SODA project is governed by Institute of Astronomy, Russian Academy of Sciences. A space telescope should be placed in a quasiperiodic orbit around L1 point on the Sun-Earth system. The purpose of the project is to perform tracking of celestial bodies, mainly comets and asteroids, approaching Earth in order to prognose asteroid hazard. Project is on early stage now, mission implementation is scheduled for the 2020s.
